The company confirmed that the latest iteration of Microsoft Outlook is now available for trial for selected users.
The new version of the email client is open to Office Insiders, giving you a glimpse of what the company sees as the future of Outlook on Windows.
Upgrades to the new Outlook for Windows include the ability to support all types of Microsoft email accounts, a new Quick Steps feature for easy troubleshooting, and new simplified ribbon options.

Featured in a post on the company blog (opens in a new tab)the new version includes support for Outlook.com, Hotmail or Windows Live personal email accounts for the first time, giving you access to all your accounts in one application.
The new Quick Steps feature helps you organize and organize your inbox by displaying “personalized segregation actions” that you can use to keep everything tidy, and making sure your newsletters and important files are also within reach.
Also included is an elegant and simple ribbon to make it easy to navigate in Outlook, and dynamic calendar column widths allow for more personalization depending on how busy your week is.
Anyone wanting to try out a new Outlook build must be a registered Office Insider using the Beta or Current Channel build (Preview). Once set up, simply toggle the Try New Outlook option in Outlook for Windows and follow the onscreen instructions.
The launch follows Microsoft’s long-term design and testing process to give Outlook a new lease of life.
The project, initially dubbed “One Outlook,” went through a small-scale public beta earlier this year, but along with a host of improvements and new features, it also sparked concern over reports of more ads popping up in iOS and Android apps.
This latest version will be the next important step in Microsoft’s design of Outlook as it moves towards a wider public launch, so stay tuned for more changes in the weeks and months to come.
